Archos Gmini 120, record capabilities

Hi everyone!
I need some info about the rec. capabilities of this player:

1. does it record to WAV directly? (it seems yes from last firmwares, but I need confirmation)

2. if yes, what specs has the WAV file? bit resolution and samplerate

3. does it present any artifact, like glitches or somewhat?

4. what's your experience with S/PDIF line in?

5. is it an overall good mp3 player? (obviously I would use it to listen to music, too)

I have a digital mixer with S/PDIF in&out and I want to use this player to record on-the-fly live concerts of my band (the same we used to do with a MD)
Any other alternatives? I saw Neuros but it has no digital input. DMC players?

thanks in advance
bye, Massimo.
