mplayer plays flac

Hello friends,

I am playing flac files with linux with the mplayer (www.mplayerhq.hu/) and everything works flawless... the only thing I am missing and I have no idea how to configure, is the ability of using replaygain-information... someone knows how to do this??

cheers
Andreas

mmh... looks like I have to adress the developers themself.

In any case: Mplayer is really a great console-based player with lot´s of functions (resampling, different soundsystems, etc.) and seriously, together with alsa and my M-Audio DIO2496, a "very good sounding" playing (I am not saying, that it is better than something else, just that it is amazingly good).

What I realized and what is proofable: The CPU-load is on my EPIA-600MHz much, much lower compared to foobar2k or winamp2.

If somebody wants to install it with suse: Use apt to install, because collecting the right rpms for all dependencies is nearly impossible on a standard system.

cheers
Andreas

PS Nobody with a idea about replaygain + flac + mplayer???

if it doesn't support it, there is a little library in the FLAC sources called replaygain_synthesis.  it has all the features that are in the FLAC winamp/xmms plugin (preamp, resolution conversion, dither, noise shaping, limiter) and can be used on any linear pcm samples.  include that in your correspondence and they may be able to whip something up faster.
