Tweaking foobar

foobar2000 is really cool. I've been using it for quite some time now. The database search component is really sweet and faster than Winamp's media library. However, there are a couple things I wished worked differently, and maybe they can, but I can't figure out how:

1. I'd like foobar-associated files, when opened externally (from Explorer or a browser link to an internet radio station, for example), to default to replacing the contents of the current playlist. Right now, it just adds them to the end of the playlist by default.
2. I wish there was a volume scrollbar or something on the player (instead of only being able to adjust volume with hotkeys). Is there a component for this, or is this planned in future updates?

1. To replace the contents, go to preference and click on core, under commandline, uncheck "Enqueue incoming files...." and the next time you click  a file it should replace the contents of the default playlist.

At the moment, there is no one-step solution besides using hotkeys. This isn't so bad, since with ReplayGain technology, you won't need to touch the volume slider most of the time.

There is a slider in the player, but you have to go into Preferences -> Playback. You can double click the volume display in the main window (the "0.00 dB" part) to bring up that preference dialog.

I went over to simplify my Volume needs: one minimum slider that does it all. No need for player internal sliders any more. I use http://www.shelltoys.com/volume_control/download.html

I use CLVol (2.0s) which can be dowloaded from here [a href="http://pogrelz.com/index.php?r=apps]http://pogrelz.com/index.php?r=apps[/url] along with Winkey ( http://www.download.com/3000-2344-913626.html?tag=lst-0-1 ) to control the volume. it works very well.

lukeprog, seriously consider Squeller's and RemzyJ's suggestions.

Personally, I use BBlean (a heavily modified Blackbox for Windows shell replacement).  One of the plugins available for download (doesn't come standard) is called BBinterface; it has the abillity to produce BB-styled sliders that support every mixer element on your sound card.  It's slittable, for those of you familiar with Linux.

Thanks for your answers! Sorry for the delayed reply, I set it to email notify but it did not.

#1 is great - I saw that but thought it meant only from the fake-DOS command line!

#2 - okay, not a big deal. I may just set it to a global hotkey, though I'm running out of keyboard keys that I don't use for other things. Hmmm... scroll lock and Pause/Break? :-)

Thanks again for your thorough and prompt assistance, everyone!

Though, I notice now with regard to #1 that if I select multiple tracks in Explorer and hit ENTER, it tries to load them one at a time, and because each one replaces the other, I only end up with the last one! How do I fix that?

Or, perhaps it is unfixable, but an unimplemented feature?

By silence, I'll just assume the latter.

Try "Play in foobar2000" in your context menu.
"To understand me, you'll have to swallow a world." Or maybe your words.

Same result, puts them through 1-3 at a time until it gets to the last one(s)
