Ripping 5.1 Audio from DVD

I know that WMA Pro and I think AAC supports 5.1 channel audio files, but is there any way to encode a 5.1 channel audio file from a DVD (from DTS or AC3 track)? Using DVD Audio Ripper I can rip audio from a DVD to a 48kHz .WAV file, but that of course is a stereo file.

Any ideas?

if you can get the AC3 file out with whatever tools are needed (Smart Ripper, DVD Decrypter or something), use Besweet, i think, to convert to 6 mono waves or maybe a 5.1 WAV file. try over at doom9.org's download section, and be sure to grab the BeSweetGUI if you don't like commandline...

Or just keep the AC3-file and play it 5.1 with foobar, like I do!  Saves you the hassle of trying to convert it to lossy, since AC3 is lossy anyway...

Yes me too, I rip and keep dts or ac3. I can play them with foobar or PowerDVD.
