I like that idea!
To start with, it could jsut scroll what's being played on the screen. So that when you have Foobar2000 on shuffle and you're not by the computer and a new cool song pops up you won't have to open up Foobar and look what song it is, or even get close tyo the computer because the name of the song is scrolling all over the screen so that you can see it from  meters away!
Phew, that was only one sentence

I really belive in this idea, it would just be so cool to always be able to see the title of the song without having to even get near the computer.
Hope there's more who feel like i do

I would like a plugin to display the cover art on the screen for the currently playing track/folder. Perhaps this could do that as well.

@indybrett: I second you on that.  This is exactly the kind of component I've been wishing for months. I'd be really pleased if someone with programing skills could take over the idea...

I've messed around with foo_looks. There are not very many skins, and even fewer that do anything with cover art. Maybe I haven't looked in the right place.

Wish I knew how to code. It couldn't be that hard to have a plugin that opens cover.jpg in whatever the current folder is, and display it in some fashion.

I've started using "The Godfather" as my library management. At least you can have the artwork stored and viewable with your music.

Maybe the combination of a screensaver and foo_textwriter will solve it.
Did anyone know a screensaver with external textimput?

scroll about halfway down, this might work.
--yes, just point the screensaver at your foo.txt.  you could format the text with some html.

what i would like to see, and maybe it can be done with this prog, is display the song at the top, and a slide show of My Pictures below.
--almost got this going.  create a framed page with the foo.txt on the top frame and your slideshow in the bottom one.  now, just have to find a slideshow creater that will show random images.

also, could use this to show a cover picture if you can use foo.txt to write html to display pictures based on the song info. <img src="%path%/cover.jpg"> or something like that.

So we're really looking for the same thing, glad to see that

To me it would be the ultimate feature to remote-control foobar. Right now, I can do almost everything I want it to do with my remote (ATI Wonder + Girder). The one and only thing I miss is displaying the cover corresponding to the album folder being played. Foobar's alternative GUIs (foo_tunes & foo_looks) don't fit to the job.

But I'm going off topic, as I'm not discussing the screensaver idea here  Even so, both could go together.
