I think windows media player is available for mac os but you probably don't want to use that.  I would take a look at mplayer for mac os http://sourceforge.net/projects/mplayerosx/ probably it will not be able to do windows media right out of the box so you will need some codec packages which can be obtained at http://www.mplayerhq.hu I'm not totally sure if they will work on mac os though but it is worth a shot.

yes. i thought of mplayer os x .
(its for a co-worker of mine with a ibook with os 10).

but i could not get a fully listing of what formats
this player supports..

btw. there isn`t exist a hack/addon for QT. which allows it
to play windows media.?

Well, if it supports everything that mplayer supports on linux you can get a list of the formats at the mplayer site, however if it is in ffmpeg windows mplayer os x will support it.  From the list I have here in front of me ffmpeg can decode/encode wmv7/8 and wma.  As for a plugin that would work with quicktime there must be something that uses ffmpeg or some nasty hack with some windows dlls so you can decode wmv9 and wmapro.  You could also embrace the evil  and install this http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsme...sx/default.aspx hopefully another mac user can point us in the right direction, I have barely ever used mac at all.
