Now that took a long time to get out. It's a pity that we will probably never see the "original" (i.e. not the special edition) trilogy on DVD.

Anyway, it looks like it's going to be an expensive year-end for me, because I expect the box with the LOTR extended editions will be released sometime during the end of this year too.

not planning on buying the first movie if I can not purchase the orginal release - HANS SHOT FIRST and the change (only seen that clip once once but it was enough) just kills it for me.
edit: fortunately my parents have a VHS copy that has the 'proper' scene

never have watched the special edition versions aside from a few brief scenes

edit2: my overall interest in Star Wars isn't that much either, so might not buy any of the 6 movies when they are available. Buying Episode 1 just to test my speakers with the Pod Race is hardly worth it.

I've given George Lucas more than enough cash, I think I will pass on this one
