RealAudio 8.0 [.rm] to MP3/OGG/WAV

I know I can record the sound output of my Sound Blaster card, but is there a free utility which will convert/transcode my file digitally?

It's a 44 kbps RealAudio 8 file.

dBpowerAMP Music Converter can do that. Don't forget to download the Real Audio codec from 'Codec Central'.

doesn't work. it writes realaudios, but it doesn't decode them.

dBpowerAMP works for me, But it is painfully slow.  Slower than realtime.  I normally use Winamp with the Tara RealAudio input plugin, and the diskwriter or MP3 output plugin.  I have also used this method for capturing RealAudio streams.  Hope this helps.

Be aware that the progress bar will indicate 0% until the file is completely transcoded. The program works great for me, except that it is realtime (but nothing else is faster).

Actually, using Winamp with realaudio plugin and MP3 output is faster than real time...  much faster.  This is why I don't use dBpowerAMP for RealAudio conversions.  Maybe I just lack patience.  Whatever works for you is good.

It's possible that you downloaded the wrong plugin for db. Theres a real encoder AND a separate decoder IIRC. Go back and check if you have the right one.

Its also possible to construct an encoding graoh on DirectShow with Graphedit, thanks to Gabest's realdecoder filters ....

Wow... tried Tara's plugin and am getting about 25X realtime! Thanks.
