MusicBrainz plugin?

Hey,

Is anybody working on, or has a desire for, a MusicBrainz plugin for foobar2k?  I know this has been lightly discussed in past threads, and one person (FlatBinary?) indicated he has a functional plugin already written, but it hasn't been released.

This would be a great addon for fb2k ... freedb doesn't even come close to the quality of MusicBrainz's database (accuracy-wise).

Another incredibly cool plugin would plug into MoodLogic @ http://www.moodlogic.com.  In my experience, Moodlogic's DB is actually the best completeness-wise of all such online music DBs; however, it is a for-profit company and would probably want users to pay for the service use.

If you don't know, Moodlogic is like MusicBrainz, but its database is supplemented with user-submitted track 'surveys' where users not only categorize tracks by genre, but also by various criteria to categorize the mood of a track, e.g. 'aggressiveness', 'depressing', 'energetic', 'atmospheric', etc.  This makes it possible for the software to generate playlists depending on your mood, very nifty.

Both services appear to use the same general means of identification (acoustic fingerprint of first 30 secs). MusicBrainz collects multiple such IDs for a given identified track in their DB however.

MusicBrainz: 1506717 tracks in DB
MoodLogic: 3612562 in DB

The ultimate plugin would compile data from MusicBrainz and MoodLogic (and freedb if possible) for every track-to-be-IDed, in order to give the max accuracy in identification.

Thoughts?

Hi,

I've been given source code to a partially written MB plugin which I am attempting to finish (first problem is it was written for 0.6). I don't know how long it will take me or what functionality I'll end up with but the bare minimum will be calculating the TRMID and looking it up on MB.org

I'll definitely release it when (/if) I finish it.
