LAME and Windows Media Player

Anyone had luck encoding mp3s with WMP using lame ACM codec? I tried but whatever setting I tried I only got garbage output. Ideas? Comments? RTFMs?

What do you mean by "garbage output"? Is is undecodable, or decodable but only noise, or decodable with some audible problems?

What are you using to play those files?

Garbage like its playing at normal speed but you hear like its playing at a higher speed than normal ( think of you are seeking continously and listening while you seek ) .  I tested WMP9 and Winamp 5.0.1 both give same garbage output.
