Winamp volume normalising plug-in

Forgive me if this is not the place to ask - but I'm putting otgether a play list for a party tomorrow night and I need to maintain the volume of all my mp3's at a constant level. I don't want to have to run them through mp3gain...I just want a plug-in for Winamp 2.9 to maintain a relatively constant volume. Any suggestions?

TIA.

Nige.

Theres one out there that sort of gets replaygain (for MP3s only) in winamp.  Try google.

Its a real hack though.  Can you just use foobar?  It'd probably be easier then getting the winamp thing setup.

Just a stab in the dark here, but have you looked at Zyrax's Evil Volume Normalizer?  It pretty much goes against everything replaygain related, but it might be useful for you.

Note that I just did a search on Winamp for "Normalize."  I have no idea whether this is worthwhile or not.

A great plugin for Winamp is OctiMax.
It is not just a volume normalizer... it is a 5-band dynamics compressor. So you will get not only a relatively constant volume, but also relatively constant bass/mid/treble equalization.
I'm not a big fan of dynamics compressors, but for a noisy ambient like a party it will work perfectly. Just set your playlist and all your music will play with almost the same volume and equalization.

edit: BTW, it's not free, but you get a 30 day trial period.

I've found no WinAmp 2.x plugin for normalizing volume that actually write right to the MP3 itself in the way that MusicMatch's "Volume Leveling" does so intelligently. OctiMax doesn't seem to do this either.

I wonder if it's a limitation of the v2.x series of WinAmp.  Does anyone know if such a plugin exists for either the v2.x or v3.x WinAmp players?
