WInamp AAC plugin

Can someone help me to find a plugin for winamp that can read my AAC files encoded with EziiiEncode (Using Nero Libraries) without returning "Unable to find ADTS Syncword" error or "Maximum number of scalefactor bands exceeded"? And also that can read Tags. I know I should use MP4 instead of AAC but my NOkia phone reads only AAC files!

PS: the plugin I'm using now is Audiocoding.com MPEG-4 General Audio Player v 2.0 (I downloaded it from Rarewarez) and it returns all these errors + doesnt read the tags.

Sorry if my question is stupid, but I'm new with AAC

winamp itself should be able to provide basic aac decoding support. try winamp 5 RC8!

MP4 support is currently being worked on by nullsoft (if Menno is right  ) and will probably show up in 5.01. But you are looking for plain aac anyway.

Perhaps these Nullsoft plugins are more tolerant than audiocoding's?

Ok, I tried with both Winamp 5 and Winamp 2.95 in_mp3.dll, which claims to have preliminary support for AAC files, but my AAC file created with Nero dll's (VBR 50-70kbps) fools the seekbar and also the bitrate counter! The bar goes up and down and can't give the exact time, and the bitrate goes up to 128kbps, and then falls down. The plugin of AudioCoding works fine until the end of the file when it tells me "Unable to find ADTS Syncword" if the file is VBR, and "Maximum number of scalefactor bands exceeded" if is CBR.
What player are you using to read your Nero AAC files out there?

Foobar2000 crashed at the end of the song...do you think there is something wrong in my encoder????

Hehe, those errors remind me of crashes that happened when you had ID3v1 tags at the end of AAC files.

himork: Could you please cut the end of one of the buggy .aac files (the last few seconds) and host it somewhere?
Or maybe just encode a small (less than 30sec) stream.

And, if you have no hosting space, please send this sample to my mail.

vio_man: No use, both the Audiocoding Winamp plugin and foobar use the same decoder.

I encoded just 20 seconds, but when I play them I get new errors like "Gain control not yet implemented" or "Channel coupling not yet implemented" ... should I host it anyway? How do I cut the buggy aac file? Cooledit doesnt read it properly...

About ID3 tags, there is something more: I tried to encode the file also with Easy CDDA Extractor, and this file (that has much lower quality that the one made with Nero) works perfectly with Winamp and also I can tag it using Abander TagControl, but the file made with Nero is not recognized by Abander, only MP3Tag is able to write tags on it, and as I said, Winamp goes crazy...is it problem with Nero dll's? (Note: I'm talking about raw aac, not MP4/aac, with nero I export the ISO 13818-7 AAC Track because my phone reads only that)

Thx a lot!

Try upgrading your Nero to latest version. A few versions back there was a problem with extracting the aac from the mp4 file.

I updated my version of Nero, the files are the same i think:

aacmp32.dll v. 1.1.0.0
NeroIPP.dll v. 1.0.0.0
Aac.dll v. 2.5.1.1
Aacenc32.dll v. 2.5.1.6
wav.dll v. 2.0.0.6

There is a paricularity, the mp4 create with nero and from which the aac is extracted, seems to work properly...

Maybe i can try to convert MP4 to AAC with some other program? Suggestions?

Hmm, these file versions seem pretty old. Are you using Nero 5.5? If so, I'm not sure if these files are going to be updated.
You can do proper AAC track extraction with the foobar AAC plugin, Winamp AAC plugin, and mp4creator. You should be able to find all these by doing a search on this forum.

Well, I downloaded the demo version of Nero 6.0.0.28, and the files I found are more up-to-date, and now everything seems to work fine...do I need this file:
aacmp32.dll ?
because I cant find it!

About Winamp Plugin to encode, which version of winamp? And , since I was reading that Nero was one of the best encoders, how is the quality of this winamp plugin?    I had a bad experience with Easy CDDA encoder...

BUT i still cant get AudioCoding plugin read ID3 tags...
If can be interesting, the support in in_mp3.dll file of winamp for aac sounds much worse than audiocoding one...even with my tiny desktop speakers i can hear the difference!

Any suggestions for tags??
