Starting a CDR dupe business

I work at a music recording studio and I am setting up a small dupe service for my clients.  I plan on small runs of under 100 audio cdrs per order.

I have an old Yamaha 16X drive that I have used the past year which works great (over 1000 burns).  I have recently added a Lite-On LTR-52327S and an inkjet cdr printer to be able to print on CDs.

I have ran my first small order for a client burning the cds in multiple recorder mode in Nero 6.0 with Verbatim Datalife cdrs at 16X.  I have used these CDRs with the Yamaha for the last year and have had no problems.  The client has called back saying that some of the audio CDRs will not play in CD Players that used to play my cdrs.  I'm assuming the cdrs that are not playing are from the Lite-On drive since this is the only thing that has changed.

I have done some testing with an older CD player.  It seems that this CD Player will not play CDR's from my Lite-On drive.  I have tried the Verbatim and Beyond Printable CDR media with the Lite-On and they do not work.  I tried Memorex media that came free with my cdr printer on the Lite-On drive and they worked great.  Any media that I burned on my Yamaha will work anywhere.  I'm assuming the Lite-On drive is picky with media since the Memorex media worked and the others did not.

Since I need as much compatibility with Audio cdr's as possible, I'm not sure whether I should keep this Lite-On drive.  I will be moving to Taiyo Yuden Printable media (I have some ordered) and some people have told me that this will solve my problems.  I was unable to find anymore Yamaha 16X drives for sale.  It's strange because I have done error checking on the non-playing cdr's with Nero Drive Speed and they are error free.  The cdr's work fine in the computer and CDR approved players.

Any ideas on what setup will give me the most compatibility with Audio cdrs?  Should I moved to Plextor burners?  Also, I have been burning the cds (out of habit) in Nero and changing all the 2 second gaps to 0 seconds.  Would this have any negative impact?

Also, is there another way to error check these Audio CDR's?  These CDRs are error free but still do not play in some CD players.  It would be nice to monitor these cds better.

Since you're actually getting paid to perform CD duplication, perhaps you should consider using Exact Audio Copy to extract the audio with a cue sheet and then burn with that image.

It can also compare wave forms, as well as generate checksums for tracks.

I receive the source files in different formats.  If the client has all the songs done at our studio and we do the mastering.  I will export the songs from our Pro Tools recording system as wav files and burn them as audio.  But if I have to rip from a CD, I will most definately use EAC.
