CD Audio - 2s pause between tracks

I am trying to write an Audio CD where I want all the tracks to play sequentially without a 2 second pause between the tracks.

I can see how to do this in Nero 6 and have set a 0 second pause.

However, when I try & burn the disc (in DAO mode), Nero complains that my CD writer only supports a 2-3 second pause in "this writing mode", and won't continue without adding the pause back.

Surely this can't really be a hardware limitation of my CDR/DVD writer combo drive - can it?  Is there anyway round this problem?

Thanks

Disable all 2 secons pauze like you did, but except the first one. And your problem is gone. And you won't hear a 2 second break after track 1.

Thank you! That did the trick.

I misunderstood the positioning of the pause, from the way it is laid out, it looks as if the 2 second pause on the track line will occur after the track has played, not before.

I can't seriously believe that Nero 6 still defaults 2 seconds pauses !

Is there any way to change that setting permanently. I don't know how many times I've made a coaster by forgetting to change that.

Yes, that's why it's stupid that Nero lets you change that.

No.
Nero is quite stupid software and can't remember some of your last settings.

There are better burning programs around there... With Feurio or BurnAtOnce you don't have to remember to select "Disc At Once" mode and 0 seconds pauses between tracks every time you compile a disc...

Indeed. I've used both Feurio! and Nero in the past and quickly decided to stick with Feurio!. However, when I bought a new laptop, last December, it came with Nero. I gave it a try and it seemed to work quite well. Never bothered to install Feurio! (don't ask me why....). Until recently, when Nero started to give me one coaster after another. Re-installation of Nero solved the coaster problem; for a whole 4 days, that is. I've started to use Feurio! again since yesterday and I'm as happy as a pig in shit.

In all fairness, I have to say that it took a second install of Feurio! in order to get it working properly (the generic driver for my CD-RW didn't work properly).

Good luck,

Rob

problem is that Ahead is trying to make NERO the next EasyCD, and that is what is killing it ... why so many uneded parts that should be optional? (neromix, etc)? and why basic burning options (2 secs, etc) aren't finex?

Agree.
Nero 5.0 was small and quite reliable.
Nero 5.5 has the same shortcomings as Nero5 but it's clearly more buggy than Nero5.
And Nero 6 is a monster that needs 70MB in hard disk, with the same stupid interface (not exactly easy), and no control over versions and bugs. (And only new feature is support for filenames longer than 64 chars).

The program you are asking for is called Feurio and is also sold by Ahead.
Have you tried it? (the demo has no limitation). Or isn't your drive supported?

You can install and uninstall it cleanly (no driver or library is installed in the system), and is technically superior to Nero. (It only lacks support for formats different from WAV or MP3).

IMHO, the program he is asking for is called burnatonce and is given away for free by Jamie Osborne (member of HA). To burn CDs in a no-nonsense and reliable kind of way, it is the way to go.
The only reasons I still keep Nero on my computer are that is what my sister is comfortable with (  ) and to burn DVDs

Just downloaded and tried Burnatonce. I love the simplicity. I don't see any reason to use anything else for burning audio CDs.
