problem encoding with LAME in nero

hello all!

i am interested in backing up my cds in the best sound for me, which is around 192 kbps...

I like using LAME the best, and i got a plugin for nero from:

Lame MP3 plugin for Nero
Based on The Lame Project 3.93.1
Plugin written by mausau@yahoo.com
http://neroplugins.cd-rw.org
Aug  6 2003 Version 1.0.0.32

there seems to be a problem though....

when i use ABR, it produces a file of 0 bytes, that is, of course, unplayable...

also, i am wondering if prefiltering is enabled, cause i cant find an option for it....

Those plugins are not official, and are by no means bug free. Some are much better than others (the vorbis one is great for me, but MPC versions all have their quirks, etc..) It does not surprise me that this plugin does not work as an encoder in ABR mode. You should write a letter to the author, and hope that the issue is resolved in the next release.
