monitor MMCSS

Some have questioned if MMCSS is being used at all. i found this guide to monitoring its use.
https://matthewvaneerde.wordpress.com/category/audio/page/2/

ticking the MMCSS box is doing nothing

MMCSS is always being used because foobar is issuing an MMCSS change thread priority command.

when the box is checked nothing different happens. its not clear if the profile request is sent.

tested using v 2.1 x64

Futher test show no interaction takes place until the first track is played .  That action creates the mmscc thread.
From then on tracks join and leave the thread, with each join instigating a priority change.

i decided to do the same analysis with Amazon Music.
It interacts with MMSCC during loading , and sends a SET MEDIA MODE to it.
something foobar is not doing. it appears to be stuck in Audio mode

Do you have a reason to wonder about such things or is there a question there somewhere?

The MMCSS request is made for the playback thread. The requested priority boost lives and dies along with the thread.

as i said others have on other forums, that its not working .
these tests show that settings in the Advanced settings are not changing the interaction with MMSCC.
Developers wouldnt have the settings if they did nothing.
but how would they know without doing something like a trace?
