5.1 DTS -> 5.1 AAC Transcoding

I posted this over at doom9, but no one there has responded yet.  I hope someone here can help.

I know there might be a few topics around on this, but I've spent the last two hours searching and trying to figure this out and I can't. I know the channel orering for the Nero MP4 plugin has to be c/l/r/sl/sr/lfe but I'm not sure how to do this for DTS -> AIFF. Here is my current commandline for Azidts.exe

"C:\Program Files\Gordian Knot\azidts.exe" -manualch -oc,l,r,sl,sr,lfe -core( -input "d:\EAGLES_HELL_FREEZES_OVER\VIDEO_TS\a.dts" -output "d:\EAGLES_HELL_FREEZES_OVER\VIDEO_TS\a.aif" -6chaiff -logfilea "C:\Program Files\Gordian Knot\BeSweet.log" )

I don't know if the -"oc,l,r,sl,sr,lfe" is correct or even neeeded when going from DTS -> AIFF in Azidts. Could someone point me in the right direction.

Also, under the InterVideo DTS decoding options, what should the "Vocal" option be set to.

Finally, what bitrate should I use in Nero 6 (I was thinking the transcoding preset).

I've since made an AIFF file, but the channel ordering is incorrect, which means the '-oc,l,r,sl,sr,lfe' switch is wrong.  Does anybody know how to change the channel ordering in a DTS track.

SoftEncode is the way to go.  Windows-based and ever so much easier to use.  You can save the project as AC3 or 5.1 DTS WAV files - I didn;t even know they existed and was blown away when I burned a CD from a DTS wav and tested it in my Home Theater and heard the sound going from speaker to speaker.

I fought with BeSweet and Azid for a few days - then got SoftEncode and that was that.

Get this zip file - sample AC3 and the URL to download SoftEncode:

www.infocellar.com/ac3.zip

The sample AC3 file is 5.1 and has my voice stating each speaker in succession (left-front . . . center . . etc) - and for the LFE it has a bass tone since you won't hear my voice from a sub.  Nice way to test your AC3 software and your system and make sure your channels are correct.

The ac3 file opens and decodes into SoftEncode perfectly - you will see the six channels staked on top of one another and the waveforms.

SoftEncode goes either way - AC3-->WAV or vice-versa.

The new version of Nero has solved my issue, but that AC3 file is very useful.  Thanks very much.

Nero 6 has AC3 encoding?  Is it just the ability to encode, or does it have editing capabilities?  I have a copy of Nero 6 but hesitated to install it because it is huge and appears to have so many integrated programs that I have been afraid it will take over my PC and my media file associations.

The copy I have has many folders in addition to the main Nero ROM-Burner.  Which did you install, if I may ask?

According to the ac3 lifeson created the correct channel order for Nero ac3-plugin would be this.
Always defragment your MP3s to avoid subtle lack in harmonics.

Nero doesn't have AC3 encoding, only decoding.  My original post was about Nero's AAC encoded.
