Why is there still no .m2ts plugin for foobar?

I really don't understand. Is it a technical hurdle? There are so many far far more esoteric file extensions that are supported. Blu Ray Audio isn't that obscure? DVD-A, DSD, DSF, SACD can all be easily played but .m2ts needs to be converted into .flac first. It's hard to even find discussion about this that isn't from over a decade ago.

I end up playing all my BR-A in MPC-BE, which works fine of couse. But I would much prefer to play them in a foobar playlist. What does MPC Audio Renderer do that is so hard to implement in foobar? I'm genuinely curious.

There is no component because no one has had interest or need to make one. Wouldn't audio be better served in some container meant for audio and that also supports tagging?
But if you want to play audio from Blu-ray disc Audio-Video MPEG-2 Transport Streams, you can do so with FFmpeg Decoder Wrapper. Just add new format, give it a name (for example M2TS), file type mask *.M2TS and tick the "Show codec names from FFmpeg".
