Semi-Colon Displaying as Comma & Not Splitting Split Values

Based on similar old threads suggestions
Semicolon not separating Artist
How To SEPERATE Artists For Real (PLEASE)
et al.

I have an issue with semi-colon separated values in composer field not splitting - and displaying as commas
Based on aforementioned suggestions, have attempted:
1. Adding %<tagname1>%; %<tagname2>% to multi-value field in addition to original TAGNAME1; TAGNAME2 fields
2. Copying all composer tags to a new field, replacing semicolons with ± ,replacing the ± back to a semicolon, copying tags back to composer field and spitting
...No no avail

Ideas?
Thanks in advance
Neither an audiophile, nor album snob. Why do ratings threads always have a poster saying 'I don't believe in rating music'?

If you use title formatting functions to edit tags (e.g. $replace etc.) the multi-values are lost. After doing such an edit (or whenever that problem occurs), select the files->get properties>ctrl-click appropriate field and select "Split values"

Check the pattern in Preferences > Media Library > Album List for the 'Composer' view -

%<composer>%

(The angled brackets tell Album List to show individual values, assuming the tags are split correctly as in the first reply above)
