how can I backup all my preferences and skin foobar portable vesion?

Hi

i have foobar2000 with several compontens and the skin Tedgo's DarkOne4Mod v1 (I love this skin ,but i don't like waveform seekbar because it created and increase a huge file wavecache.db now it's about 800MB)

to backup my preferences i have zipped the folder configuration , with all the files *.cfg

I have these folders
Code: [Select]
index-data\
configuration\
library\
playlists-v1.4\
component-updates\
user-components\
runtime\
themes\
doc\
components\

is it enough?  Or should I zip/backup other folders ?

Ps I don't where is the right sub folder , but i would like to remove the waveform seekbar or at least add foo_vis_vumeter_2013-02-16.zip somewhere , maybe in the view1 (there are 3 Reverse in view 1 and other 3 reverse in view 3) ,i have conctaed the creator of the skin but i guess he does not updaet no more )

Is it portable? Just backup the entire portable folder and you're good. Also, about the big wavecache.db file you can just delete that, it won't hurt foobar2000 or waveform. The cache file will of course reappear when you use waveform again and it will grow larger over time but then you can just delete it again.
I wouldn't advice you delete the waveform component itself if you want to get rid of it. DarkOne4Mod v1 is a CUI config so best to check the layout tree in preferences - display - columns UI - layout. If you find the waveform in the tree, remove it and If you insert a different element in the same position in the tree and give it the same name it will take the place of the waveform element and use the same x,y,w,h dimensions.

Btw, to name an element you place in the tree, select the element and press the "configure panel" button and name it in the "caption" field and press apply.

Backup your config if you going to try this. I'm not familiar with DarkOne4Mod v1.

The best and easiest way to back up Foobar and be sure you're got it ALL is what jazzthieve said--use the Portable version, and just copy the whole folder elsewhere.  There are things going on other than just inside the "configuration" folder that are going to determine how your installation functions.  To your specific question "if i delete a file *.cfg for example foo_converter.dll.cfg , it deletes all the prefences of my convert settings?", the answer to that is "yes."

Yes, and if you're using a portable install across two Windows versions, your sound devices will have different GUIDs, for instance.
