Error on burnatonce-startup:
While "configuring devices":

Quote
Error 5: Invalid procedure call or argument
Error occurred in: frmMain:updateDriveInfo

App Version: 0.98   Windows Version: 5.0.2195

i'll have to click about 5 times on ignore(error keeps popping up again). Then:

Quote
Error 13: Type mismatch
Error occurred in: frmMain:updateDriveInfo

App Version: 0.98   Windows Version: 5.0.2195

ignore again...... then the first message pops up again...... again "ignore".

then burnatonce starts up - i can set the CD-R55S(writer) or CD-R532S as "read device", but i cant setup any device for "writing"(blank entry).

System Details:
Win2k SP3
1,1,0: TEAC, CD-R55S, 1.0R
1,2,0: TEAC, CD-ROM CD-532S, 3.0A
ASPI 4.6 installed

uninstalling 0.98 and reinstalling 0.97a: everything works fine again

and almost all can be fixed.. do the forum tour..and
error 5 & 13 will be gone..

infact.. all support questions about BAO should go to
burnatonce.com.. (even though jamie is a member..)

but i do expect a update soner or later.

Uh you still got one of those grandpas?  Will be fixed with the next update.
I had the Teac55s myself for quite some time, was an excellent and reliable drive.

yes, it is :) i'm missing the cd-text-feature, but other than that...... slow, but secure :)
If some day i would have to buy a new drive, i suppose i'll get a teac or plextor drive again....... seems like it would even burn data on chocolate-CDs, and i never ever had a single glitch when extracting audio.

BTW: i did read the thread on the bao-forums, but the error is still there(and i dont have any virtual drives)

You're suffering from the same bug pokopiko is on the forums. The Teac55, like his UltraPlex, is using its own r/w driver, which however can not be used to detect the drives features. Will be fixed with the next update.

I have mine on 64, but it'd probably work just as well on 32. I think 256 is overkill.

Weird... it was set to 256 from the beginning. I haven't changed it.

Yea mine was also set to 256 but I noticed how much RAM it was using, and I thought "Hmm... I don't need that much buffer." so I knocked it down a few notches.

Maybe I'm slow, but is burnatonce just another DVD/CD burning tool? What advantages does it have over, say, Nero or any other burning program?

Not to be rude or anything, but I went to the Burnatonce homepage and I couldn't find any kind of product overview or anything...

I think the only advantage is that it is free.

I also like the fact that it's small and not bloated like Nero and other burning programs. Sure, the fact that it's free (in the legal sense) is a plus.

Gday..

hmmz... well.  there`s more..
EX. in the latest version.. you can use wavegain
in the decoding/burning prosses..

correct me.. if am wrong.
but i think BAO is alone in that.

it fixes fucked-up image files, uses cd paranoia to (evt.) rip. to image..
it have a small atip. dialog. have a greater overburning tollerance..
than any other i have tried. (DAO). ++
