using spectrogram from foobar as "live" spectrogram while playing vinyl?

hello

i LOVE the spectrogram provided with foobar and i really love to listen to music watching the spectrogram. with some music kowneldge after some time you almost really can see the music and melodies played (it almost looks like a piano roll) and you can also identify sounds.

since i realy enjoy listening to vinyl records, i thought about a possiblity to maybe use the spectrogram while listening to the vinyl that is played. my vinyl player is hooked up to the pc via my m-audio delta 44 soundcard with full duplex ability.

is there anyway to use the foobar2000 spectrogram as a "live" spectrogram in any way? i would love to hook up a second monitor to my computer and hang it above the vinyl player and that it would show the spectrogram there while listening to vinyl.

i thought about ways but i was not able to make this. i also looked for another software that could possibly do it, i found something which turned out to be not so good, and it also wasnt as nice as the foobar2000 spectrogram (which you can customize with colors and all).

anyone knows if there is a way to do this?

thanks in advance

You can use foo_record - http://www.saunalahti.fi/~cse/foobar2000/?changes=foo_record. With it foobar2000 can play sound from soundcard input and also display spectrogram for it.

iZotope Inisght has a great 3D waterfall display, although I haven't tried running it inside Foobar. I'd imagine DMG Dualism or Track Meter would be other excellent plugin options.
