Icecast pass-through metadata support?

I've noticed that some streams don't display any metadata in their playlist entry's "General" section; I think I've narrowed it down to the encoder being used at the remote end and the way it labels the metadata at point of encode.

I've set up some streams using BUTT on Windows to encode them directly to my Icecast server; they don't display anything. Other streams, presumably encoded with a variety of other apps, display info.

I'm still testing but thought I'd post in case someone had come across this before and for certain knows the root cause. However something in the Icecast documentation caught my eye:

[blockquote]Example:
samplerate=44100;quality=10%2e0;channels=2 (LadioCast)
ice-bitrate=128;ice-channels=2;ice-samplerate=44100 (Butt)[/blockquote]

on http://icecast.org/docs/icecast-latest/server-stats.html ; see "source-specific statistics".

To display things like bitrate, format etc, is foobar expecting metadata labelled as "samplerate", "quality" or "channels" and simply ignoring the "ice-" prefixed variants?
