error writing configuration file

hello,

I have just downloaded v1.3.4 on a windows 8.1 64 bit machine.

In both columns UI and default view, when I close it I get a message saying çonfiguration file could not be written (object not found) which means that any changes I make just get deleted.

I have searched the internet extensively - Here (http://www.hydrogenaud.io/forums/index.php?showtopic=69977) I found a message that said:

"My guess would be that you have set "Preferences > General > Location of configuration files" to "Application install folder" while running foobar2000 as Administrator, or copied the files there from older installation. Now when running it non-elevated, the configuration cannot be written to "C:\Program Files\foobar2000" due to access restrictions."

But I can't find a 'location of configuration files option'

Here (http://comments.deviantart.com/1/187628705/2776265612) I found a comment:

"I truly am an idiot =) got it now!" - but with no info on what they did.

I have tried exporting FCL and creating a configuration file both as admin and normal but the same message.

Am I just missing something really obvious?

Have you installed a fresh copy of foobar2000 on your machine or have you restored settings from some backup? Have you installed the player normally or are you running a portable version? If portable, where are the files located?

Totally fresh, normal install. (thanks for the reply by the way!)

Hi,

I had this problem too. After same debug I found the culprit - Viruscope subsystem of Behavior Blocker (part of Defense+) in Comodo Internet Security 7 (CIS). If you use this security suite too, check you settings (disable Viruscope).
