Samsung F5900

It is a fact that many Blu-Ray players are supporting FLAC now. Sony, Panasonic, LG and Samsung are a few of them.
However, upon some research, all I read about the models is that they don't support gapless playback or album art.

I wanted to know if this Samsung model displays FLAC embedded album art (if it does, up to what image size), and if it supports gapless playback (this last thing I don't expect much).

If you have this model, help me out.

Thanks!

There's an OK chance it will be gapless as you have to work at it to not be gapless with flac. I wouldn't count on embedded album art. Support for that tends to be uncommon.

Yes, seems that album art is uncommon really. I've read many reviews on these players coming with FLAC support.
However, most of them are not gapless. Can that mean that FLAC is not decoded natively on the device?

Not sure what you mean by natively. But if its not gapless it probably means they are doing something stupid like pausing the hardware on track change.

I would think that there could be some issue when decoding to PCM on the output, thus inserting a gap. But I don't understand the process much of how FLAC is supported on these devices.
