'Live' seeking, remembering last playback time + a few more qu

I've been recently trying Foobar2000 after putting aside some time to get to know it better. Coming from JetAudio 6.2 as my player of folders/individual tracks there are a few features that I can't live without

  • 'Live' seek component - is there a plugin where you can hear the the audio while it's seeking, like JetAudio 6? It's extremely useful for fast-forwarding through podcasts to specific sections as you can hear the buffering audio samples and tell when to stop without the app window visible.
  • Remember last playback position - any plugin that will remember the time position of the last track being played on close and on startup allow you to play from that time again? Another feature I'm used to from JetAudio 6.
  • I'm using EsPlaylist + Facets, with one EsPlaylist panel displaying the current selected album from the Facets panel, and split below it the now playing playlist (ie: two different views on top of each other) - is there a way for EsPlaylist to remember the last loaded items in both those playlists on startup?

I tried foo_playlist_attributes but it seems to only remember the selected album, and doesn't remember/load the separate now playing playlist.

I'm hoping I can configure Foobar2000 in this way so it can be the one player I use

Update: upgraded to latest version and the last two questions are solved. Now all I need is a live seeking component.

About remembering last playback position/state, go to preferences -> playback and tick "remember playback state on close and resume on startup" option.

Not sure about the esPlaylist, but you could try to fiddle with the settings under right click -> playlists. It offers the options "follow now playing/follow playlist/browse library", maybe that could help you.

Updated to the latest version (previously on 1.1) and I see the playback option, thanks! As a bonus EsPlaylist now remembers the last loaded/selected playlists

Still looking for a live seek component.

Argh.... Launched foobar2000 with the /playpause parameter now it doesn't remember the 'Save playback state' option (launching it without now doesn't make any difference). Frustrating  Does anyone know why this would affect FB2k?

Mysteriously fixed itself
